How is Homer Veterinary operating in response to COVID-19?

The Homer Veterinary Clinic is making every effort to protect our community by decreasing the spread of COVID-19, while at the same time providing essential veterinary care.   We are following current CDC guidelines and AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) recommendations, as well as state mandates.

Am I allowed to come into the building for my pet’s appointment?

Clients are allowed in the building with their pet. If you are sick we ask that you have another family member or friend bring your pet to be seen, or reschedule if possible.

Upon arrival to the veterinary clinic, please remain in your vehicle and text (907)235-8960 that you have arrived. We will notify you when we are ready for you to enter the building for your appointment. This keeps the traffic down in the waiting room and also makes it less stressful for your pets.

Masks are recommended but are optional.

I would prefer not to enter the building. Can I still have a curbside appointment?

If you prefer, we can provide curbside service if you would prefer to remain in your vehicle and have our staff members bring your pet into the building. The veterinarian will call you to discuss concerns, examination findings and to discuss a treatment plan for your pet.

What if I have COVID-19 and my pet needs veterinary care?

If a you are ill with COVID-19 and your pet needs to be seen urgently, we request that a healthy individual bring your pet in for an appointment.  If you are unable to find another person to help, the use of telemedicine is an option, if we have seen the animal within the past 12 months.

We recommend that clients with COVID-19 follow AVMA recommendations for pet care. Visit the website listed below for further information.
